TOUR ORANGUTAN BORNEO



A Glimpse of Tanjung Puting National Park
Tanjung Puting National Park of Central Kalimantan is located in an as large as 415,040 ha area, consisting of the Wildlife Conservation of Tanjung Puting of 300,040 ha; 90,000 ha of productive forests; and of a 25,000 ha water area. In 1977, UNESCO set Tanjung Puting Wildlife Reservation area as a "Biosphere Reserves. Biosphere reserves are sites established by several countries in collaboration with the MAB (Man and Biosphere) program of the UNESCO to promote biodiversities and sustainable development based on local community’s endeavors and knowledge. The main characteristics of biosphere reserves among stakeholders is integrating cultural diversities and biodiversities, and to participate in the world network. Thus, Tanjung Puting National Park has been within the world biosphere reserves network, which has reached more than 400 sites across 94 countries.  In Tanjung Puting National Park you can meet face to face with orangutans, the rulers of the forest. You will also enjoy the beauty of Sekonyer River which is still natural with its mangrove forests, Nipah, and Rasau. Monkeys would swing freely above the boat; bekantan would unabashedly show its golden fur, enjoy a dish of fireflies perching in a tree at night, those that seem like Christmas trees. You would even see alligators sunning on the banks of the river.
PACKAGE OF 3-DAY-AND-2-NIGHT TOUR
To facilitate you to enjoy the uniqueness of Tanjung Puting National Park, we provide you with a tour itinerary as follows:

Day 1: Pangkalan Bun - Kumai - Tanjung Harapan
The tour will start as soon as you arrive at Pangkalan Bun airport. The tour guide will pick you up at the airport as scheduled. We would then escort you to the dock by a car, at which your ship is already waiting. This trip would take approximately 20 minutes. From this spot, your adventure will begin toward the first camp of Tanjung Harapan where along river bank soon you will see the mangrove plants, palm and rasau. You can also go hunting while watching monkeys, bekantan hanging in the trees, birds fluttering here and there around the river. After traveling for more than an hour and a half we will arrive at Tanjung Harapan camp. At the camp, there is feeding time for orangutan held at 3 pm, for which you will go jungle trekking to see wild orangutans fed on a stage and you can enjoy taking photos of them. After being presented with this rare orangutan feeding, you will head back to the ship and then continue to stroll down the river in the evening while looking for a place to stay overnight. In the evening, we will stay on the boat provided with mattresses, pillows, mosquito nets, toilets, and showers; after which you will enjoy your free time, chatting, resting, sleeping in mosquito nets, etc. (L/D)
Day 2: Boat - Pandok Tanggui - Camp Leakey
By the time you wake up in the morning, there will be various melodious and unique voices that will greet you. Many voices are coming from the sound of birds and forest animals, very natural. This will be your unforgettable experience. Your journey will then proceed to the second camp, Tanggui cottage. As soon as you arrive at the cottage of Tanggui dock, you will go jungle trekking and go taking photos of wild orangutans while being fed at every 9.00 am on a stage that has been provided. In the camp, you can lodge at Tanggui for photo-hunting wild orangutans and insectivorous plants, Kantong Semar, and many other plants. The journey continues with the ship heading towards the next camp, Camp Leakey. In this camp you will go jungle trekking again to the orangutan feeding while taking photos of wild orangutans. In Camp Leakey, orangutan feedings are at every 2.00 pm. Getting done with all the activities, you will be back to the ship and then continue to go down the river in the evening while looking for the lake or fireflies spots. (B/L/D)
Day 3: Sekonyer River (Boats) - Kumai - Pangkalan Bun Airport
Relaxing in the morning while enjoying the last day at Tanjung Puting National Park with its fresh air is carried out while waiting for the breakfast. After breakfast, we proceed to the Port of Kumai. Arriving at the Port of Kumai, you will be escorted to the airport based on your flight schedule. This then would complete your tour.(B)
